Hello, From the first day I bought this item I knew it was going to be great. I had an 8x cdrw by HP it was great but a little too slow. It took about 15 mins a CDR. With this great piece of machine, it takes about 3 mins. Now that is an gargantuous increase in speed.
I bought this item about 4 months ago for about $240. That is and was a bargin especially considering that I paid $224 for the HP 9100i (8x4x32x).
If you are in a situation that you have to wait a long time for a CDR to finish, than I think it is time for you to consider this wonderful machine by smart and friendly. Not many people know about this drive but it has been around for a while except that you would be paying $300. Don't worry about the price, it will payoff. Besides the software included is worth more than the drive itself. I sold some of the software and got $200. I still have what I need so it really is worth the buck.
This epinion does not say that I bootleg or do anything illegal. I primarily use it to make cds for my band and backup my HD every now and then.
