The Grant Institute

Dear All,

I am one of those who was recently scummed by the Grant Institute. We paid £997 for a 3 day course which turned out to be very very disappointing with poor material and delivery. This was scheduled in June 2008. The trainer was not prepared, the manual was made from photocopies of staff from the internet. The presentation was not adapted for the UK market. People on the course had come from across professions in the UK and also from Belgian and Germany. Of the 30 who were present, 27 were very very disappointed and some of us walked out and we were promised our refund. On contacting the Grant office I was told that it would take 8-10weeks to get a refund. Getting hold of someone is almost impossible. Pattys doesnt appear to exist. A Fred Jackson and David Tom give people very conflicting information and they dont care about people's concerns. Has anyone ever managed to get their money back and if so how did you do it. What can someone in the UK do. Certainly we will be campaigning to ensure that no other people or organisations get scummed. Please contact me on 00 44 208 568 8171 or 00 44 7886 831199 or email me at zolisaf2001@aol.com if you have any information or advice. I shall also keep you informed.

Thanks

Zolisa

North Dakota's Attorney General Opens an Investigation against the Grant Institute

Hey folks,

Beware of these con artists. The Attorney General's Office in North Dakota opened an investigation on these people on July 25, 2008, a week before they were going to teach in Fargo, ND. They taught last year in North Dakota without getting a transient merchant license, and it appears they are scamming nonprofits.

www.ag.state.nd.us/NewsReleases/2008/07-25-08.pdf

Turns out when The Grant Institute moved the class in August to neighboring Moorhead, MN to escape being scrutinized by the ND Attorney General. They may have narrowly missed that one, but people are onto them now.

If you think you have a case, please take it to your local State Attorney General's office. Now that North Dakota has an open investigation, if more States get involved, we may be able to prevent them from continuing these poor practices.

God Bless,

Xena

RE: The Grant Institute

The best thing to do, is to immediatally go through your credit card company for a refund...

Also, I think the lot of us should go through an attorney and file a group class action lawsuit against them. Also, contacting the FBI with complaints against them for internet fraud...

RE: The UnGrant Institute

I am not sure if the Phoenix Institute is aware of all the practices of the grant insitute. I note that TGI has a disclaimer on their website, that Phoenix only is the venue, and is not associated with them. I wonder that Phoenix demanded that they put that on there. Perhaps more personal calls to Phoenix are in order. However, it is about as difficult to contact Phoenix directly, as it is to get ahold of TGI directly, unless, of course, you want to take a course/program, and give them your money?

The Grant Institute

I am beginning to believe that I too, have been scammed by the Grant Institute. If you paid by credit card, go to your credit card provider and file a dispute. This is a very effective and viable way of dealing with this type of scenario. A complaint with BBB is also good; however, this is more of a "heads up" for other individuals.

complaint website

I too was ripped off by the grant institute like 80 other participants at our course in Australia. One of the instructors at the course has created this website, www.the-grant-institute.com, they have collected all the complaints on the web about the grant institute and are attempting to form a class action.

TGI strikes again!

I just went to Toronto to attend a grant writing 3-day seminar. The teacher did not show up and no one was notified. We now have 40 more people that will be trying to get their money back. This company is a scam. Do not sign up for any course from them.
