12-plus hours for...

...

12-plus (and pending) hours for a review to hit the non-member (i.e. not logged in) side of the site..??

I am sure the delay has not been that long in the past. Or maybe it has and I have just not noticed...

And you pull a review/essay to update and it 'disappears' for hours..??

...sigh...

Cold here too, but are you getting a lot of snow also?? We are up to over 2 feet in the last 36 hours. More expected overnight through 4PM Saturday. Of course it is going to stop about 4 PM Saturday and be totally wonderful. Well as wonderful can be with lake effect snow coming off Lake Erie. Darn lakes need to freeze as quickly as it does inland.

RE: 12-plus hours for...

Not really sure I understand the details, but.

DB cache expires one of twelve servers ever hour (so twice a day).

The guest cache, the server that logged-out users hit, expires every morning at 4am PT.

If you're a logged out user, you're potentially seeing a day-old website.

And then there's the new-review sync with Shopping.com. I think that happens several times a day, but then again, you're limited by the guest cache.

Beep, beep, beep, ....beeep, beep ....be beep be beep...

Hour 20-something-plus ...still a no-show. I have to work this weekend so must go to bed ...soon.

Will check in the A.M. Hopefully the sun will rise in the east, lakes will have frozen over, and servers will have spun their majick tales and all will be right in sleeper's Epi-land.

Well... If it is the review from the 20th, it works now.

One good thing that came from this thread:

At least I, and possibly some others, learned that wee bit of information.

Though again, I am surprised that I have never noticed that before, as I always sign in and out of the site.

Well, a friend of mine said she'd added a comment to one of my essays (on L-O-V-E), and became a member (and that was Friday), but I STILL cannot see either, so...don't know what's going on, but it could be related.
