I am trying to program a universal remote with my new insignia tv. The brand name is not listed in the code section; does anybody know if insignia has a parent company among the big guys? Maybe I could try their codes instead.

Try the Funai-made product codes. That's probably your best bet. My brother worked for Best Buy and he told me that's usually where you'll find yours. If your remote has a code search feature, you may have to use that.
