$9.00 Entertaianment Rewards/Tickmaster RIP OFF
Discovered a $9 recurring charge on our credit card statement. Wife had overlooked it, thinking I had purchased something. By chance, she mentioned it to me and showed me the Visa bill this AM.
I Googled the 888-231-Save phone number associated with the charge and after several creative searches found dozens upon dozens of hits from upset people regarding the same problem.
To remedy this issue I first called my Credit Card Company and disputed the charges, stating I would never subscribe to a recurring charge of this nature. The CC Company conferenced in the 888 number and of course we waited on hold forever. I somehow lost the CC company on the 3 way call, but I stayed connnected to the merchant; "Entertainment Awards".
After about 20 minutes, they picked-up my call and I proceeded to tell them 1) I'm not paying the charges, 2) I've disputed the charges with my CC company, 3) I've researched their number to find scores of people out there with the same problem 4) this is as close to fraudulent convalence as it gets and 5) I expect a full refund for all the months of billing (5mths). The rep I spoke with, "KIM", proceeded to tell me what this so called service at $9 was and it occurred when I bought tickets via TioketMaster:
“”TicketMaster is one of Entertainment's affiliates.., so Entertainment has an area on their web site after the order process that says "Would you like to recieve our $25 dollar cash back reward", so if you are entering your email address there, it acts as an electronic signature. It is actually a 7 step process and it involves you into a 30 Day free trail. IF you DONT cancel during the 30 day free trial, that is when you begin to be billed the $9 you are now showing on your statement. I can go ahead and cancel this for you today Sir!””
OMG!!!!! Can you believe it??? To get a $25 dollar Cash Back Reward, you continue to pay $9 forever until you cancel. IS THIS INSANE!!! In retrospect, absolutely I would have signed up for #25 Dollar Cash Back Reward, if no other information was provided...., LIKE IT WILL COST ME $9 per month..., and what is the Trial???? What Trail??? Hell, there is no service for it. What a fricking Scam.
Of course as you can see in the transcript above, KIM only offered to cancel the service??? Well.., I got a cancellation confirmation number and she had to speak with her boss to credit my account the 5 mths of billing. But I will have to check for the Credit to my card in a few days from now.
I called the CC Company back, provided them the Cancellation number, left all the $9 charges in dispute. They are sending me a letter to confirm the dispute and and if they don't see a credit in 30 days, they will drop the charges and pursue the merchant.
Note: I told "Kim" at Entertainment, they need to re-engineer their web site as this is BS and she said; "Yes Sir , we know". She also confirmed, I'm not the only person calling for this crap.
Good luck to all and watch out for the scams!!!! TicketMaster Sucks for allowing this.., but in the end, I believe Entertainment owns TicketMaster. The FED's should get all over this!!!! |

This is absolute nonsense.
First: I looked on my May to June debit card statement. I was billed THREE times in one month for Ent*Entertainment Book 888-231-SAVE. After researching I found this website and immediately called: three times at over 45 minutes wait each time -- been disconnected due to the fact that I'm at work. They were more than happy to cancel my account, however refused to do anything regarding a refund and told me I had to dispute the charges through my own credit card company. They have been charging me $27 a month for a year and stated that it was due to a purchase through Clear Channel and a purchase to Live Nation. Well, yes we have bought tickets through LiveNation (ahem, ticketmaster) but Clear Channel?! The radio station?! What do you even buy through the radio station? This is absolutely ridiculous, BBB here I come. |

RE: Entertainment Rewards Scam
I just noticed i was charged 3 times, the third time being a couple days ago. I called the number today, told them I was calling about a charge on my account that I knew nothing about. He told me about the ticketmaster thing, then he "says" that he canceled me and gave me a confirmation #. i told him that if i signed up for anything, it was inadvertent due to something being misleading, although I am smart enough and would probably have noticed if I had paid more attention (i take responsibility for it even though i think it's an unfair way for them to make money). So I asked about a refund, and he acted as if he understood. he actually told me he "recommends just GOING to a REAL ticketmaster next time and try to avoid this because a lot of people were having the same thing happen," then he "says" he issued a refund for ALL 3 months of $27. Didnt take too long, about 10 min. did not ask for my CC#. From reading everyone else's posts, it sounds too easy to be true. I'll know next week if it's true. if so, maybe I just got lucky that i ended up with someone working there who is down to earth. If not true, time to cancel my card. |

Numbers to call
Call this number. It is the Ticketmaster (parent company) President and CEO's number 213-639-6100.
Also, if you have been scammed, you bug the sales people at 877-248-2273 (ask for Sally Foster) and 866-862-0069 |

Not exactly a Scam, but...
They lure you with $25 off of your next ticket purchase (and with what ticketmaster charges, that's maybe 1-2 service fees?) They rely on the fact that most people have busy schedules, and will forget to cancel the 'service'. I just cancelled mine. Lesson learned. |

RE: Amen
I just wanted to say that I thought your post was ignorant!! Maybe us "adults" dont have as much time as you irishstud66. I think that you could post something more pleasing to read instead of your rude remarks!!! We "adults" are just trying to help eachother out by posting the stories about the SCAM!!!! |

Not Too Bad
The charges from Entertainment Rewards acrued for six months, then we realized what was going on. I called and spoke with someone for a few moments. I was not on hold for a long time. The person cancelled my account, took my email information, and told me a supervisor was not available, but I would get an email or see the charges refunded. He asked me to give them two weeks to process it. I waited four.
I called again, today. The first time, when I was being transferred to a supervisor, the call was disconnected. The second time I had no trouble. I spoke with Brandon. I was not on hold for more than a minute to speak with either person. Brandon assured me $54 would be refunded to my account and asked for 15 days to make it happen.
We'll see if it shows up. I feel lucky for the lack of hold time. Maybe the money will show up on time, too. |

me too
I recently bought tickets through ticketmaster.com for a show at the local casino for my mother's birthday, and the show was great, we all enjoyed ourselves, everything was fine...
then suddenly my account is getting overdrawn because of these $9 charges every month, of which i had no information on. so I called the number linked to these transactions on my credit report, and received a message " we are closed for the thanksgiving holiday, please contact us after we open again november 29" (keep in mind that I called after christmas). I then went to the bank to see if they could stop these reoccurring transactions, and learned that they could do nothing because I had apparently authorized a subscription to Entertainment Rewards (which I declined when the pop-up came onto my screen after I bought the tickets). So in order to completely stop being scammed, I was forced to open a NEW savings and checking account because even if the bank stopped that particular code from entering my account, they could just switch up the code they use to enter and gain access again -- after all, they had my card number and personal information, so what would stop them? MUCH to much of a hassle simply for tickets in my opinion |

Same situation but I got charged $400!!!!!
I also ran into this Ticketmaster / Entertainment Rewards scam. However, it seems as if my issue is slightly different.
Like most other posters, I noticed a charge from ENTERTAINMNTREWRDS on my statement. This charge came exactly one month after I used ticketmaster for the first time to purchase some concert tickets for $134. However, unlike everyone else, the charge was $400. With going to college and trying to pay bills and everything, it's absolutely ridiculous to have to try to get back my own money just to get the bills paid on time.
Absolutely sickening.
