Ordered MS Office 2000 - Premium Full Version on 9/12/05. Got e-mail on 9/13 giving me Login and Password info. Waited the requisite 24 hours before attempting download. Went to site as instructed (got in with Login and Password), but then tried "Products" for download instructions (also, as directed) and was told my info. was "invalid"; I have called, sent e-mails since to get correct information. No response! Nothing! ZIP! (They, of course, have my money!) My credit card customer service rep.(when I called to file a dispute)advised that site is in Russia. Software probably pirated....I feel like an idiot, but want to warn others: STAY AWAY FROM SOFT4DOWNLOAD!!!

my buddy just fell for the scam. it is a website which has many clones online at different urls (4download.info, soft-download.com, and many others) and basically all it does is sell you pirated software =| better get on top of your stuff with your bank before the money is withdrawn, otherwise you can't get your money back if you've authorized the transaction!! if you search soft4download on google.com, you'll find many bad reports about this site

I have used the Soft 4 Download service twice and both with success. Just a different data point. I guess I was or have been lucky.
I have always wondered how they offered the software at such low prices.
I have even opened up a trouble ticket and gotten advice on how to solve my problem (which worked).

I can guarantee that any site like this is selling you access to pirated software. I would steer clear both on moral grounds and because there's no warranty against spyware, viruses or other malware when downloading from a site like this. And if the software doesn't work, needs to be updated, or causes a problem on your computer, the software company (in this case Microsoft) has no obligation to assist you in any way.

I have purchased software from soft4download on 3 seperate occasions and have successfully obtained said software.

I contacted Microsofts's anti-piracy division and they confirmed that the company was legit.

We were notified by one of our customers about this forum and opened discussion. We are not going to carry out any kind of conversation here. If any of our customers have questions to us, we are always glad to reply them through Trouble Ticket centers on their accounts. If the confirmation letter with the details of the order has not been delivered, you may address us by e-mail 'support@s4download.com'. However I've heard of problems sending to this account, such difficulties could only be determined by spam filters which are widely used on all mail-servers now.

So once again I address to the customer who started this topic: please address us by e-mail and we will cancel you order or offer you any other kind of a suitable solution.

Additionally, regarding our relation to Russia: we work with a number of banks and one of them is really located in Russia, thus your credit company could notify about the charge from Russia. Our office is located in the US.

I think it would be really interesting to see if these people got a resolution now that a rep has come by to address their concerns. Please be sure to update us on how things went with this website. I am interested in the final outcome. (And you should write reviews, negative or positive, if possible for all to see).

I've ordered software from them two times already and I have had no problems. The instructions for downloading are very specific. Following them exactly is what I recommend. And this is the first time I've seen any complaint about Soft 4 anywhere (not that I've surfed the entire internet), but I have seen praises...on IT sites...recommending Soft 4 and stating that they are able to sell the software cheaply because it's OEM, not pirated, and it's, for the most part, older versions (one version down from the newest version available). Soft 4 couldn't stay online as long as they have and not have been caught selling pirated software by now, IMO. You just had a bad experience, which you have a right to complain about. But to say it's pirated? You should really call the software companies before making those kind of accusations.

I just purchased Mircrosoft 0ffice 2003 and was able to download and install with no problems within 12 hours of making my purchase.

On my credit card there mysteriously appeared a 'temp' authorization for some scum in Moscow, Russia. I was hip to the status, and immediately called the credit card company and CANCELLED my card. There is a MESSAGE HERE!! TAKE HEED!! These clowns do the 'temp' authorization in order to see if your info is current, then they go out and buy stuff with YOUR credit card....
BUYER BEWARE!!! I repeat "BEWARE!!!"
Any so-called 'positive' answers to the charges are done by god-knows-who, ya' CAN'T TRUST ANYONE these days!!!

If I can figure out WHERE to put a review on S4Download -- I'll do so immediately..
These schmucks are TRICKY!! Only by reviewing my credit card status online was I able to forestall them..Where they got the info I have no idea, but there it was: a 'temp' authorization on my card...I'm sure that they intended to take the info that it was a 'live' account and run with it to who-knows-where and saddle my account with a lot of charges.
SO I IMMEDIATELY CANCELLED the card. The fact that they get 'positive' emails is meaningless -- anyone can write them. The fact that they have an 'online rep' is meaningless --- like just try and get anything out of them..!!!

I would like a response to an order that I placed. I have called, emailed and no one responds. My order # is 1131421708

It is now 24 hrs after my order and I cannot get the login or password to work and they worked immediately after I placed my order. I also cannot access your site at http://www.thedownload-store.net. Either you have a failsafe on the site that after an order is placed customers can't get back in or you have the worst luck of any business. I have found numerous sites stating that your company is fradulent and quite frankly after the problems I have had recieving a reply to my calls and emails, I would have to agree. I only want my products. Can someone at least give me a working login and password? I will leave you alone as soon as I get what I paid for. So what's it gonna be?

All other sites whether you get software or not are illegitmate and YOU ARE PAYING FOR STOLEN SOFTWARE IF YOU DOWNLOAD SOFTWARE FROM THIS SITE.

I purchased software on soft4download (or any other of theit names) after asking them beforehand if their software was legal. I got a confirmation.
After downloading Adobe Photoshop CS2 and Quark Xpress Passport I found out that both were supplied with keygenerators, so they are not selling legal software.
I tried to get my money back. First they didn't answer at all, later after lots of e-mails with large attachments they responded that they consider their software legal and that I could download it without problems, so no money back.
Be warned!

I've ordered from them in the past without problems, even received timely help when I had a download issue. However, although my recent order was available for download and my login and password worked well, my download was corrupted and requests to make it available again have gone unanswered. Their 888 customer support number doesn't answer and its mailbox is full. I hate to ever give negative feedback, but I'd avoid this site at this time. If I get satisfaction, I'll post another comment on the site.

PS. I did not get any free software as promised in their Christmas Giveaway.

As promised, I'm getting back to say soft4download responded to my queries, reactivated the download site and allowed me another attempt to download the program I ordered. It downloaded fine the second time and is up and running.
