Any suggestions for a new daypack? The time has come to retire my current one and I've been keeping my eyes open on a couple of different brands. EMS offers an EMS brand daypack that offers lots of storage and is fairly comfortable while LL Bean also has one much the same, though the waistbelt is significantly more comfortable than the EMS one (it's larger and better padded).

Anyone have a pack they love and would recommend?

Wish I could take them both out for a hike - see which one I like better and then pick.

I spent some time in Freeport at the LL Bean store this past weekend and decided to go ahead and get their top loading Bigelow daypack. In the end, it was the most comfortable pack, especially in the waist and I really liked the sternum strap that could be adjusted up and down so it wouldn't ride too high on your chest.

Now I'll have to get it in the woods a few times and get a review up.

I also got LL Bean's small Lumbar Pack 300 - it's a small pack that holds about 300 cubic inches that goes around your waist. It's pefect for short hikes or walks where you don't need or want a full-sized day pack.
