Davis Weather Station in Music Instruments & Boating Categories?
Product Category Errors & Related Questions:
Hello,
I am a long-time Epinions member, but this is my first time posting on the boards for two unrelated site-related problems.
Recently, I submitted a review for the Davis Instruments Corp. Vantage Pro2 weather station, model 6152. The only place that model is listing on Epinions according to a search off the main Homepage is under the "boating & …" subcategory. This is not a boating product, but rather a land-based weather station. In addition, the search results for this item incorrectly indicates that it is unavailable. This is inaccurate. The product is still being sold on the Davis Web site, among other weather product sites. Meanwhile, there is an second listing for the Vantage Pro2, model 6153, under the "Musical Instruments" subcategory. Not only is the category placement incorrect, but the model number designation between 6152 and 6153 refers only to a different type of radiation shield to protect the weather sensors (the latter model is fan-aspirated, whereas the former refers to the "standard" Vantage Pro2 retail package, which includes a passive radiation shield).
I was tempted to relocate my Davis Vantage Pro2 review into the active product listing for the Davis Vantage Pro2 with Fan-Aspirated Radiation Shield — especially since there are no reviews for these high-end weather stations no matter where the Vantage Pro2 appears on Epinions. However, I know from past experience that even posting a review about a model/product that differs only in color from the Epinions version can result in "lectures" by site editors due to the appearance of having been filed incorrectly. Consequently, will someone kindly bring the Davis Vantage Pro2 6152 listing "back to life" since it remains a current product (different only by the type of sensor shield, as mentioned above)?
Technical Issue with Site:
The last problem I noted while posting my review is that the script that is placing a random advertisement to the left of the full-page review is buggy. If permitted to load, the ad will disable the "Update" and "Move" links, among others on the affected side. I found that the only way I could update my review to make a few corrections was to force the page to stop loading the ad so that I could successfully click the "Update" link. These glitches occurred while using FireFox (latest version), and also Safari (latest version) for Mac OS X Leopard.
Thanks in advance for any help that can be provided to resolve these situations. If by chance there is a more direct route to contacting the ePinions editors or Webmaster for category or site-related technical problems, please feel free to clue me in.
