Water Filter Bottles - PureWater2GO/Brita

It's hard to find reviews on water filter bottles. I have heard about the www.purewater2go.com filter bottles and the Brita fill and go bottle. The Brita bottle has been discontinued. Has anybody used them? Do they work well? The PureWater2GO bottle looks like a great product.

Looks like they are running a free bottle special through the end of the month, and I was thinking about getting that.

Haven't had the opportunity to use those bottles. Here's a listing of the water filters that Epinions has in its database, I didn't go through all of them to see if the filter bottles were included, but you might find some useful information.

Hi jps246.

My wife ordered a water bottle and filter from the Pure Water company online about 2 months ago.

They are great! My son now wants one!

I believe you get a 'free' filter also!

God Bless!

I don't think that there is a topic in the Epinions database yet, but if you drop Openroad, the Lead for Outdoor Gear an email with some information on the product, he should be able to add it. I'd love to see a review from you on the product.

Pure Water 2GO Review

I agree, there needs to be a review on the Pure Water 2GO Product here, especially since the Brita product is now discontinued.

How do we get that done? How do I email that Openroad person as you recommended?

Actually with the new database upgrade, it appears that some of the Pure Water 2 Go products are now in the database.

16 ounce bottles can be reviewed here and the 27 ounce bottles can be reviewed here.

You or someone else will have to go to that topic, write a review and submit it.

If you need more products added and you want to email Openroad, just visit his profile and his email is there. I believe it's outdoorcl@yahoo.com. Make sure to include as much info on the product as you can so he can more easily add it.

Bad Idea

Having these portable water filters beats the purpose of having filtered water. Once you pour you water in the PLASTIC container, it will absorb every and any chemicals or whatever it is made of. A chemical called bisphenol A (BPA) found in plastic bottles is known to cause disruptions in your hormones. I suggest you get reverse osmosis system. It saves you time and money, and you'd be in better health. There are some pricey ones out there but I own the ISO-RO5 by Isopure Water. It only cost me about $160 and replacement filters are less than $5. DO IT!!

RE: Bad Idea

Quite true, though I'd think that even over several years of hiking, the concentration of BPA and other potential toxic chemicals you'd ingest from using the bottle during hiking would be pretty small. I'd be more worried about constantly using plastic water bottles beyond hiking - at home and at work. That's why I've gotten a metal bottle to refill at work - I don't have to worry about the leaching plastic chemicals.

You should review your water purification system.
