As a newly 'hatted' advisor, I thought it would be (ahem) "advisable" to provide a Writer's Corner piece that proffers insights for writing outdoor gear reviews. Such a piece, I hope, supplies some useful tools in preparing a review; also, by derivative and default, presenting some insight into what I look for in a review when I read/rate them.

A number of members have read my essay and ranked it Very Helpful. (Thanks to all.) Jo.com thought enough of it to suggest that it might prove useful to provide a link on "our board" so that new writers (who would be unlikely to 'stumble' upon the piece in the writer's corner) and those who might not regularly contribute to Outdoor Gear would be able to peruse the information and suggestions offered therein. Upon clarifying where it was that "our board" existed, I asked permission of Openroad and he pointed to this page as the most relevant to the topic; consenting to my posting the following link:
