Looking for suggestions for Computer Forum
Garrett is interested in looking into feedback and suggestions for the different areas.
Here in the computer forum we would like to know if there should be any addition or deletion of forums under computers? Are there too many different forums or should others be added. What you like and what you don't.
Also, general message board feedback. What you think works, what doesn't, what features you'd like to see, etc.
All suggestions listed here can be seen by Garrett and I'll also forward the suggestions, once there are a few.
Kathy

Also, G is interested in hearing thoughts from you folks on how we can get more folks interested in the various sections and participating. All thoughts are welcome.

Looking at our forums, there is only one that doesn't have a topic in it and that is PDA's. I don't think that we should drop that one, and the others seem to have generated some interest, so my thinking would be that the Computer forums are set up well. I can't think of any that I would add at the current time...

Most of my general message board feedback is in relation to the moderator tools or lack thereof, so I will head on over there tomorrow and second a few motions...

We had a big turnout early on, at least for the Computer section. Lately I have been watching threads and notice that there appears to be a core group of maybe 10-15 or so folks that come around and read the Computer postings, trickling in over a few days or a week. I am not really sure how we get more folks interested in the different sections; maybe display some links to the forums in a search? For instance, if someone searches for a generic term such as "PDA", along with the jillion or so returns, at the top of the results page could be something like this:
"Looking for assistance in determining which PDA is right for you? Check out our user forums and post a question!"
Maybe that is too cheesy, but it would put the information out there for everyone to see, and it would also encourage membership.(I believe you have to be a member to get to the forums?) Just a thought...

I think that's a good idea, it could drive more people to the boards and help them at the same time.
