priceskydiver's Full Review: Zebra Jk Refill for G301Gel Rollerball Pens, Fine ...
I have done my fair share of writing. I served a christian mission where I was away for two years with little or no technology, with so many things to remember and to fill in your daily planner you get to know pens. Inside and out, pens and notebooks become your friends. Letters to friends and family keep a pen handy at all times, you just never know. Like the great boy scout in all of us, with a pen we feel we are prepared. No pen company can compare to the quality and affordability of the Zebra company. If you have a pen connoisseur, or affectionado, these are the pens to get. A package never seemed complete with out these handy gel refills. So why does it even matter? A pen is a pen right? WRONG, pens differ as much as you and I do. They can be fat, thin, smooth, easily smeared, contoured, flat, metal, plastic, cheap, expensive, but it does matter. When I look for a pen I look for several criteria it has to meet, I am tough on things so durability is key. I need one that rolls out smooth. It has to not bleed through while having good color. I like it to be affordable, and a bit on the stylish side.
Durability You know those commercials for a flash light company where they run it over in a Mack truck? I swear they need to do it with this company's pens. The refills are protected in a nice metal casing of the actual pen usually and I have dropped them all over the place. Not that you would ever swap brands and refills, no, never. The cartridges never have exploded on me, nice to know for you people sticking pens in your mouth, you know who you are.
Smoothness and bleeding So I am left-handed, this only became an issue around back-to-school specials with me longingly looking at the huge pack of disposable Bic's, wishing I could use them. They were so cheap, I needed them. Any left-handed person will tell you about the trouble with the ball pointed pen. They skip, well the cheap ones do. They are the ones you have to scribble huge circles to get the ink flowing again. Don't worry these refills won't do that. They are creamy and smooth the gel ink flows nicely and it is almost a zen state to write with them. They also can't bleed through, it just isn't professional. If you have a huge brief due or presentation to give you know as well as I do how tacky that can look. On the down side, these refills need a quick second to dry or they will smudge a little bit. This can be a huge down side if you plan to scribble notes during a lecture or business meeting. It can be frustrating at times but it rarely if ever happens to me any more.
Affordability So these you can find at any local retailer acrossed the country. It is next to the super cheap things you lose or throw away cause they suck. It is a little bit more but the pennies spent are saved in lasting a lot longer than those cheaper quality pens. They aren't high end, yeah pens have a high end, but look and feel as if they are. They look stylish and sleek, just the image you want. As packs come in twos they last a really long time, I think per use it is cheaper than anything else.
Bottom Line It is a good solid dependable refill, you wont have to destroy paper to get it to work and it'll feel fantastic when you use it.
