| Mimi369's Full Review: US Postal Service Standard Mail |
Yes, I know, I have heard it all before. Yet, I am here to tell the truth about the US Postal Service. (Gulp)...
Did you get your mail today? And from where did it come? Did you know that postal workers work an average of 50 hours a week diligently sorting and packing out letters and parcels to ensure the prompt arrival of your precious and sometimes valuable mail? Well, speaking first hand, I can honestly say that we are a hard working breed.
I certainly am not immune to the rudeness or short-tempered postal workers, though they are few and far between. I make a point of waiting on line in various post offices at least once a month to see for myself what it feels like to be on the other side of the counter. Trust me, sometimes it's not a pleasant experience. Then again, I can empathize with them, for I too am one of them. I too work long hours. I too get frustrated by rude and irate customers. I understand how it feels to be accused of the faults of an entire organization, when in all actuality, I am simply doing the best that I can do to make your postal experience a positive one.
I work in the customer service end. I have also dealt with mail processing. Covering the entire spectrum, I know what goes into getting that important piece of mail from our hands into your's. Believe it or not, more parcels arrive in good condition and on time than most people may think. (wink)
So, now you may be thinking, "yeah, right!!" (chuckle) Actually, what other country do you know of that can get an air mail letter from door to door in about one week for a mere 60 cents? Or get an important document door to door overnight by noon for only $11.75? Or mail out your wedding, bar mitzvah, or baby shower invitations for only 33 cents each.
The US Postal Service has gotten a bad rap for far too long. We are striving to improve our appearance and customer service. Do not hesitate to report irritable employees for these are the few who give us a bad name.
So, the next time you are standing in line to buy stamps or mail off that important parcel, think of me smiling and saying, "I do appreciate your business".
