We have a long standing joke through out our neighborhood...we have nicknamed our mail carrier Speedy. The only problem....he isn't quite so Speedy. We even have a neighbor who does a fantastic impression of Speedy.
Speedy comes driving through our neighborhood, darting in and out of the courts, barely looking to make sure no other cars are coming and screeches to a halt at the cluster of mailboxes. He parks across the street (at least he is on the right side of the road which is more than I can say for his sub, LOL) and skips (yes he really skips) across the street. Once at the mailbox he tries to be so fast that he cannot get anyones mail right.
It is not at all uncommon for me to have 2 of the same magazines in my mailbox, one for me and one for a neighbor. I frequently get other peoples mail, they frequently get mine. I have had him leave me mail that has my house number but a completely different street. Once I recieved mail addressed to Michelle, thats my name, so I promptly open it and to my surprise I find all sorts of Leukemia information...from my Aunt "Fran", I don't have an Aunt "Fran". I look more closely at the address..yup right house number, wrong street. Now, I have to go over to this girls house and explain about how sorry I am that I opened her sensitive mail, I have the same first name (no last name was on the envelope) and live in the same house number as she does, but on a different street.
My father in law sent a package to my daughters one day. Speedy conveniently left it at someone elses doorstep. Thank goodness they were kind enough to return it.
My magazines come late...sometimes very late, or they go missing completely, he just can't seem to get them here. I have no idea why, when we have the sub we have absolutely no problems.
Then the other day I get a message from StartSampling.com, it seems that they have had several samples returned to them as undeliverable. I verified my address with them and it is correct, yet the mail gets returned.
I have complained to the postal service to no avail. I don't think it is my job to redistribute the mail, and if I have to I think I should be compensated for my time, LOL!
I have to say that I have one of the worst postal carriers. He just can't seem to get it right. He always looks as though he is rushing for his life, but he ought to slow down a little and take a little time to make sure he is getting the mail to the right people. After all there is nothing worse than getting someone else's adult magazines, yup that has happened! (LOL!)
