| hd7crash's Full Review: Drexel University |
I have been at Drexel for three years now. The first year one does not know any better and tries very hard to enjoy college life, however, after seeing how Drexel is run one is quickly discouraged. Drexel is a company, not a school, they nickel and dime you for everything, the campus is unsafe (i have been robbed at gun-point 3 times so far), the bums are relentless and mean, they try everything to get money out of you and when one refuses they yell, the administration does not care for its students. the courses are accelerated compared to other universites which makes it much more difficult to learn all the material properly. There are no sports teams that are reputable and the student body has very little school pride, which is a huge disappointment, there is no baseball team, or football team and greeklife has been deminished over the years. the administration has eliminated many of the oldest and important fraternities...one is unable to have a healthy social life unless in greeklife, which for myself is no problem becasue i am in a fraternity. The last thing i have to say is that drexel burns out its students. by week ten of every term, ppl are crazy with little sleep and resort to excessive drinking. for more information the WallStreetJournal wrote an article about what i have stated and the princeton review has rated drexel poorly, if you are considering coming to drexel, think about it more, visit the campus talk to students outside of the tours, im not saying this is a bad school for everyone it just seems to be a waste for many, not to mention a large majority lose they scholarships due to technicalities and many end up droping out as a result
