Pros: She pushes out her voice and really lets out some beautiful notes
Cons: None!
The Bottom Line:
Check out the Mariah Carey’s best-selling U.S. album Daydream that achieved diamond status. This album is one of the reasons why Mariah Carey is my favorite singers.
There is nothing I enjoy more than listening to the voice of my favorite singer, Mariah Carey, caress my ears with her glittery voice. I always expect to hear great things from her. What I like about her voice is the way that she can take the lyrics and gently whisper them and make them sound beautiful. Her attack is effective and amazingly absorbent. It is amazing to me how much I have grown to lover her music over the years.
Daydream was Mariah Carey's fifth album. It was released in 1995. The album has a combination of 12 piano ballads , midtempo numbers like Always Be My Baby and up-tempo grooves. This album sold over ten million copies and was named as one of the top ten albums of 1995.
My favorite thing about Mariah Carey's songs are the lyrics. There is something about her usage of the English language that really stimulates my mind. I have the splendor of listening to the way she phrases her lyrics with her powerful, streak of lightning vocals.
This album has more slow songs than fast but I have noticed that with slow songs, that is when you can hear the true strength of a vocal personality. With a slow song, a singer has to sing and that is what Mariah Carey does. Actually, she sings well whether it is a fast or slow song. Personally I love her ballads. That was who Mariah Carey came out as, a ballad singer with chops and attitude who could hit high notes and also sing some fast songs. I loved that then and still love that factor today.
On the album Daydream, Mariah shows her fans herself undisguised. She sings songs about love and life and adds bolts of emotion as she sings with that sweet intensity. Her fast songs like Fantasy are fun. Her voice flies up to the skies and sprinkles down like snow on a winter day. She adds flairs of sparkling color and rides the up-tempo groove with a strength that stands strong. I like this song but love it's remix.
I really enjoy listening to the duet with Boyz II Men One Sweet Day. The lyrics are beautiful. Together their voices resound and blend well. I love the ad-libs strewn across the fabulous piano ballad. Every time I listen to I Am Free it feels like the first time. This is a song that I can listen to and know that it is a Mariah Carey song; not by the voice but by the structure. Mariah Carey's songs tend to have similar bridges in most of her songs that lead to that strong vocal controlled high-C. I heard this song a million times and then the other day liked it more than I remembered and put it on repeat and listened to it over and over again.
If you are looking for an album with Mariah Carey before she became MC, here is an album you might want to check out. I love what she is doing now with her music but these songs from back in the day are really good. She pushes out her voice and really lets out some beautiful notes. Her background vocalists Kelly Price, Melonie Daniels, Shanrae Price are always on-point keeping her harmonies sounding good. I love the accompaniment. Check out Mariah Carey's best-selling U.S. album Daydream that was so good, it achieved diamond status. This album is one of the reasons why Mariah Carey is my favorite singers. The songs shimmer and have a lasting effect.
