In July of 1999, I and about 14 other family members decided to go to Alaska. We chose Norwegian Cruise Lines because they are simply the best. The first day we went to Vancouver,Canada and from there we boarded the Norwegian Wind. This is one of the nicest ships that Norwegian Cruise Lines has to offer because it was rebuilt to make it more upscale. Our first stop was at the capital of Alaska, Juneau. Juneau is a nice little city with several attractions. Then we sailed over night to Skagway. Skagway, I would say was the best. There I joined this tour that is issued by the Cruise Line, we took a bus to the heliport and from there we took a helicopter to a glacier. We then climbed that glacier with special gear. Another option that a few of they other family members took were going whale watching, kajaking, biking to the next destination, and other great things. Our next stop was at Haines which is really a little junky town. I did not enjoy Haines. After that we stayed onboard for about a day enjoying the casino, shows, and bars until we reached Ketchikan. In Ketchikan I received free diamonds and bought many things. The view throughout this whole trip was fantastic. Well, after Ketchikan we sailed back to Canada. This trip was one of the best experiences of my life. I recommend it to all.
