I am relatively new to the world of Macs, and generally not the most tech-saavy woman, but it didn't take me long at all to transition from a PC to a MacBook Pro. I love the features that Mac has, and I have Boot Camp software that allows me to run both Windows XP and Mac OSX. My housemate has a Dell laptop, and we have wireless internet at our apartment, but my Macbook's connection is much faster than her PC.

The built in camera is convenient for taking quick pictures (though not the best quality; I think it's 2.0 megapixels) and the screen is either 15" or 17" (you can pick which model you want; I have the smaller screen, but it's honestly quite big compared to most laptops, and fine for watching movies). I also like the shortcut commands that Mac users are able to employ; it makes navigation so much simpler. The sound quality is great, and the overall look of this laptop is slim and sophisticated.

Pros: My 2008 MacBook Pro caused no problems at all.
Cons: A bit heavy, gets too warm as previously mentioned, you need a real mouse.

I'd like to publish a review on my 2003 Mac Book pro because strangely, after 5 years it is working just fine. One would not expect a laptop to function for 5 years, at least I would not.

My six months old Sony Vaio running on Vista (reallllllly sloooooow) is causing me more frustration than my five year old Mac laptop. I think this is something people should know about.

My previous MacBook (not pro, just mac Book) was not so durable so if you are thinking about a laptop consider Mac Book Pro which will probably serve you for 5+ years without any problems.
