My experience of the under cabinet B&D coffeemaker is so-so.
Found if I only fill reservoir to just over 10 cups and not
the 12 won't steam over and spray overhead cabinet. My issue
is :purchased one, returned to B&D outlet (they replaced at
no cost) issue - digital clock on both gains time and never has correct time. However, programed time does work- so
I live with resetting the time, only filling to 10 cup level
and it starts morning coffee on program. I did want a Black

just right! They sure lost the concept of the original

We have had many Black and Decker under the counter coffee makers over the years which, first off, tells you they don't last that long. The latest one has been a disaster from day one. When you put the glass carafe in, the mechanism kicks out the coffee basket just enough so that water backs up and overflows with water and grounds everywhere. We've rigged it by stuffing a small piece of paper towel in between the basket and the machine to hold it in place but are definitely taking it back - only 1 1/2 weeks old. Very disappointed because this model does save on counter space. Wish another company made an under the counter model. And, I agree with another reviewer. The installation is ludicrous. You need to be an acrobat. Also, time does not light up - very hard to set without a flashlight.

Pros: SAVES COUNTER SPACE - ONLY PURCHASE THIS COFFEE MAKER IF YOU ENJOY DRINKING COLD COFFEE.

I received my Black & Decker Under Cabinet SpaceMaker coffee maker 6 days ago and it does NOT keep coffee hot.
I have purchased several similar models of the spacemaker coffee makers (MADE BY Black & Decker,)in the past due to the fact that I have little counter space in my kitchen. The models that they have been making within the last 3 years are JUNK! The Black & Decker Under Cabinet SpaceMaker that I purchased 3 years ago had a continuous slow water leak everytime I made a pot of coffee. I tolerated this major inconvenience due to the fact that I need the counter space. Now this new version/model that I received 6 days ago has a heating defect. ONLY PURCHASE THIS COFFEE MAKER IF YOU ENJOY DRINKING COLD COFFEE. Otherwise save yourself the grief and aggravation. Purchase another coffee maker NOT made by Black and Decker!!!!!!

Old one in our motor home was old... so of course we had to replace it with something new and shiny and digital...

Coffee is OK, not great.

The problem is the nasty plastic mounting bracket. The template results in a poorly mounted machine.

Taking it off an on snaps the plastic.

Lo and behold... you can't get a new plastic mounting bracket.

Bottom line, should have kept the old one!

Same problems as above. This is my 2nd black and decker spacesaver, the first was the smaller one with the thermas caraf. I loved it but had to leave it at my old house. So I bought the black bigger one (12 cup) to match my new decor. However, I miss my thermas. I have been having the same problem with the above posters. The coffee basket pushes out a little while coffee is brewing, and when I push it back in it leaks like crazy! Even now, it just leaks. I will never buy another black and decker. I have to tape the coffee basket closed to get it to brew right.

Pros: Wish I could find another black or stainless space saver

I bought two of these brand new and both were defective. What are the chances two in a row would be broken? Talk about cheap quality!! First one worked once, then the display went dead so I returned it. Second one has a display that works, but it won't make coffee. C'mon Black and Decker, please test your products.

I hate this coffee maker. If it was not more trouble than childbirth, I'd take it down and take a sledge hammer to it. Do not buy it.
1.The clock is NOT lit up, so you have to grab a flash light to read the time. Lovely :)
2. It leaks all the coffee out over the counter on a regular basis. Love that at 5:00 AM. :)
3. It is too hard to put up or take down to replace.:(
4. The designer actually hates his job and is trying to put Black and Decker out of business. And for that reason, I will honor his poor design and buy a different brand next time.

Pros: Very little. Space saver, stylish.
Cons: Design flaw that causes major problems.

The old B&D Spacesaver design was much better. This unit is larger and sleeker but is nowhere near the functional equivalent of the old style units. The "pause and serve" lever will cause the coffee ground/filter cup to unseat and push out slightly. This causes the pause function to activate and when the ground cup fills completely up coffee and grounds overflow causing a countertop mess.
