by chilliwi , Nov 17 '08
Pros: Easy to use, self cleaning sensor, Compatible with Canon EF & EF-S lenses
Cons: Doesn't come with a CF card, if you consider that a con
I’m reviewing the Canon D400 Digital Rebel XTi predominately for those thinking about upgrading from a digital point and shoot camera or for those who are switching from a 35mm SLR camera. I am not a techie by any means, so I will describe the ...

Great way to enter into the DSLR world

by dkaakd Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Dec 18 '06
Pros: Professional features in a consumer minded package
Cons: Kit lenses are mostly junk (but they are cheap)
This Christmas we upgraded from a Nikon 4500 point and shoot (digicam) to a Canon XTi (Rebel 400D). There were several reasons for this and I will try to explain my decision making logic below: The first thing to consider for me was cost. I found ...

Big Dog on the block

by pawtraitp , Oct 02 '06
Pros: High resolution, sensor cleaning, fast
Cons: a little on the light side
The Rebel XTi is the newest member of the Digital Rebel family As befits the market leader in digital cameras they have taken a successful product and improved it. Where the original Rebel sported 6.3MP, the XT sported 8MP the new XTi sports 10.1MP ...

I like my Sony RDR-HX750 DVD HARD DRIVE recorder.

by guyoui , Apr 09 '08
Pros: Instruction manual easy to follow, big hard drive, firewire input, clear and crisp pictures.
Cons: Cannot create folder on harddrive, recorder doesn't have IR cable to control the settop box.
I bought this beautiful 160Gb Sony RDR-HX750 DVD recorder 3 weeks ago at Future Shop on sale and I love it. It works very good and without a flaw. It does everything my old 4 year old Sony RDR-GX300 by the way it still works great, never had a ...

wonderful camera

by terriebari , Nov 01 '08
Pros: great quality photos, ease of use, price
Cons: hard to follow book, "just average" lens with purchase
I bought the XTI because I really wanted a higher quality camera than my point and shoot, but did not want to spend thousands. This camera has fullfilled my needs 100%. It is very easy to use and has a whole host of "automatic" settings (portraits, ...

Yes, I made a right decision!!!

by photoholic , Mar 07 '07
Pros: inexpensive, RAW image, many lenses to select, high resolution, 2.5" LCD...
Cons: no built-in IS, user manual is small, included software is almost useless...
The professional cameras are too expensive! Film cameras don't give me a chance/choice to edit or select which pictures to be processed. Point and Shoot cameras don't give me a professional level of control depth of fields, apertures, shutter speed, ...

Perfect

by joesmith36 , Oct 26 '07
Pros: fast, amazing resolution, sensor cleaner, sturdy build, options galore, nice monitor, good software package, Canon
Cons: I'll probably find some cons sometime. Right? We'll see.
While the word perfect sums this camera up, well, perfectly, I'll elaborate a little. I just received this camera last night and I've already taken better pictures than I was ever able to with any digital or SLR. While it's my first DSLR, the research ...

Great Camera

by rgruss , Sep 14 '06
Pros: Features, comparative price, fits my hand, easy to use as is, takes great photos
Cons: not easy to carry and keep handy, no zoom above 55mm, price
I haven't been able to take anything except typical photos since my Minolta 101 wore out. I normally used a 55mm 1.2 or 75-150 mm lens with either ASA 160 or 400 Ectachrome. The Xti is taking a broader range of photos at mind blowing resolutions. ...

Canon 400D SLR twin lens kit

by lance0059 , Jun 30 '07
Pros: Ease of use, many features, quality images, sensor cleaning, light enough for astrophotography
Cons: viewfinder too small for astro focusing, kit lens are not value, body a little small
The Canon 400D is my first DSLR and am very happy with it. Purchased for Astrophotography, the images from my first nights photography are better than a most of my images taken using film camera's. Manual focus is a bit of an issue for astro photography ...

Canon EOS Rebel XTI with Manual Nikon Lenses

by jm0831 , Feb 20 '07
Pros: You can meter using older Nikon manual focus lenses. Reasonable noise up to ASA 400
Cons: Digital bodies are way too expensive when considering that they are outdated so quickly.
Having waited too long for Nikon to make an entry level body that would meter with my older Nikon lenses, I finally decided to buy the Canon Digital Rebel and use Nikon lens to Canon body adapters for my older Nikon manual lenses. This was an upgrade ...

Canon EOS 400D

by nicheguru , Apr 21 '07
Pros: Good user interface large LCD monitor with 160° viewing angles
Cons: nothing so far I can find
Almost exactly three years since Canon changed the digital SLR market forever (with the $1,000 EOS 300D) they announced the third generation of their affordable entry level series, the EOS 400D (Digital Rebel XTi). This new camera follows the design of ...

Awesome Camera - Learn To Use It

by tennis128 , Jan 02 '08
Pros: Great for kids and action shots you'll only get once
Cons: Price, complicated for average user.
My wife insisted we get this camera despite my objection to its high price tag. It is great in the daylight. I can shoot for hours with no qualms and love the picture quality. Indoors is a different problem, the reason we got this camera was for ...

canon eos digital camera
by vishal123dNew Member ,Dec 30 '08
Pros: He Canon Digital camera good picture quality
Cons: He Canon Digital camers prise is normal.
He Canon Digital Rebel XT builds on the huge success of the original Digital Rebel , a camera that literally turned the digital camera world on its ear when it was first introduced. A six-megapixel digital SLR that sold with a lens for less than aprox $1000, the Digital Rebel not only challenged Nikon, Olympus, and Fuji in the D-SLR business, but promised to cut drastically into the all-in-one  prosumer market. Borrowing its name from their highly popular it's good to use, good product

My Favorite Toy in the World
by jerlea ,Oct 30 '08
Pros: Good size and weight, takes great photos.  Love, love, love this camera.
Cons: No cons.  Would recommend this to anyone.
I have had my camera for over a year and still absolutely love it. Had gone from a point and shoot to this camera--started on auto focus and am at the point now that I do manual exposures on everything.  It takes great photos--very good for creative exposures of all kinds.  I have bought several lenses, filters, etc. for it and at this time do not plan to upgrade to any other DSLR.
Great for travel, as it is not too heavy and is the right size for my small hand.  LCD is a good size that enables you to see the photo quite well, even before printing.
