Hotel Montebello Splendid

Pros: beds comfortable, room and bathroom clean very very stylish hotel
Cons: wished we had a window to see the sights.

This hotel was wonderful, my husband and I took our 10 year old granddaughter to Italy for 2 weeks, the hotel staff treated her like a princess. My only complaint is that our room 333 didn't have a window, it has skylights and when the shades were closed we all over slept! The beds were comfortable, the room quite large with sitting area and the bathroom clean. The staff was very helpful in making arrangements for tours. We arrived quite late and had not eaten the restaurant was closing for the night but stayed open and let us select anything from the menu.The food was outstanding, and the breakfast selection in the morning was fabulous. I'm late in writing this review we actually stayed in September 07.

I was in Florence 2 weeks ago staying at another 5 stars hotel in Florence. Walking around I noticed the entrance of the Montebello Splendid and I felt astonished! So beautiful and unique! I entered the hotel to ask some information and a kind gentleman told me they opened mid 2004 and took me to have tour of the hotel. Lobby and lounge room are very charming and the few rooms he showed me were terrific!
I decided to book a table at their restaurant to the same day, prices were reasonable on the menu. So I went back and had a great candle-light dinner with my husband in the veranda facing the well lighted garden. Food was excellent and wine selection too.
This was a very nice and unexpected experience during our trip in Italy, we found an hidden monument in central Florence that wasn’t mentioned on our guide. I’ll stay there whenever I’ll have occasion to come back to the wonderful Florence.
